His message lives on, Memorial Fund

The O'Brien Family would like to profoundly thank everyone who has contributed to Burke's Memorial Fund. We are forever grateful for your generosity.

The memorial fund is being used to establish scholarship opportunities for young people to participate in the wilderness program at which Burke was a long time leader and inspiration to many. It is through this scholarship program we hope to continue his work and to allow for others to explore the land that will always be in Burke's heart.

On July 11th, the recipients of the Burke O'Brien Memorial Fund scholarship begin their wilderness expedition through the prestine waters of northern Ontario. The benefactors are from many different walks of life and come from various local and international regions, including the Sierra Leone, Montana, and Chicago. All of them are very much deserving of this opportunity and have been specifically nominated by teachers and other community members because of their leadership ability and exemplary nature.
